Students at Evergreen Academy Montessori Celebrate Earth Day

Students planted flowers and herbs to benefit the planet in honor of Earth Day

Students at Evergreen Academy Montessori Preschool in Bothell celebrated Earth Day on April 22 with their annual garden-planting event. Students started the week preparing their classrooms’ garden boxes by pulling weeds and adding fresh soil, then planted flowers and herbs in the garden boxes in honor of Earth Day.

Leading up to Earth Day, Evergreen Academy Montessori Preschool students studied the parts of a plant and the ecological impact of planting seeds, herbs and flowers. As these plants grow, students will see firsthand the stages of growth and have a sense of reconnection with the planet. Evergreen Academy Montessori teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
