After being housebound and weary of the grey skies and dead grass in the winter months, people are often eager for a getaway in the Spring, an opportune time to travel since schools are still in session and it is not the peak vacation season.

The Keukenhof and Dutch Gardens in Amsterdam offer a tour that includes the Bloemencorso Flower Parade. This event features various floats festooned with lovely and delightfully shaped tulips. There are also contemporary and historic gardens with colorful flowers and varied tulips in different styles. The Dutch Wave Gardens feature ornamental grasses and various perennials alternating with a single shrub, tree or hedge.
