2 Shoreline Schools Placed In Lockdown After Ammo Found
Investigators said two Shoreline students brought ammunition to school Monday.
SHORELINE, WA — Shorecrest High School and Kellogg Middle School were placed in precautionary lockdowns Monday morning after two students brought ammunition to school, according to investigators. The King County Sheriff's Office said no weapons were found after an extensive search, and lockdowns at both schools were lifted by mid-afternoon.
Detectives interviewed students at both schools, and explosives detection K9s swept the campuses to confirm nothing else was on school property.
Investigators said the ammunition was found only at Shorecrest, but a sibling of one of the students attended Kellogg, prompting deputies to verify nothing else was brought there. The lockdown at Kellogg was lifted shortly before 1 p.m., and the lockdown at Shorecrest ended shortly before 3 p.m.
