Another Shoreline Beach Closed Due To E. Coli Contamination
Both freshwater swimming beaches in Shoreline monitored by King County are now closed.
SHORELINE, WA — Both freshwater swimming beaches in Shoreline are now closed after King County shut down Echo Lake on Wednesday due to high levels of E. coli bacteria.
Hidden Lake at Shoreview Park has been closed since June 24 due to high bacteria levels. Those levels have remained beyond health standards in every test since, according to county records.
Echo Lake had been clean so far this summer until a test this week revealed about 2,400 colony-forming units (CFU) per 100 milliliters of water. The safe range is between zero and 1,000 CFU per 100 milliliters.
