The Crest Cinema: The Cheapest Hot Weather Refuge Around
During a heat wave, a movie theater can be a great refuge. If you haven't already, check out the region's best kept cheap movie secret.

SHORELINE, WA - A couple hours of entertainment and the cool embrace of air conditioning, and all for only $4.
If you haven't heard about it, the Crest Cinema Center in Shoreline is probably the best (and cheapest) movie-related refuge available around Puget Sound. The Crest is a second-run theater, which means that it shows older movies at a deep discount.
But just because it's a second-run theater doesn't mean it's run-down. The Crest has four screens with top-of-the-line projection equipment, including 3-D projectors (although those movies are $5.50). The Crest is also located in a quiet little commercial intersection in Shoreline. Nearby, you'll find the coffee shop Cafe Aroma and the Ridgecrest Pub, serving craft beers from around Puget Sound.

Right now, The Crest is showing five movies, which means you'll pay just $20 (temperatures are supposed to peak at 90 each day, FYI) for over 10 hours of entertainment and AC. One of the movies playing is the monster-thriller "A Quiet Place," which deserves to be see on a the big screen.
