Cryotherapy Store To Open In Lake Forest Park Friday
What's cryotherapy? You can try it for yourself Friday at Lake Forest Park Towne Center.

LAKE FOREST PARK, WA - A new business opening in Lake Forest Park will sell a unique service: exposing your skin to sub-zero temperatures to heal pain and inflammation.
Glacial Cryotherapy opens Friday at the Lake Forest Park Towne Center. You can try the service out at a deep discount - $25 for your first session.
Owners Nicolle Gulick and Kathy Haynes say that this is the first cryotherapy center in the Lake Forest Park area. There are others in Western Washington, but you'd have to travel to downtown Seattle or Bellevue.

Star athletes like LeBron James use cryotherapy, but it's suitable for anyone in good health with aches and pains (sports-related or not). Here's how the process works, according to GQ magazine:
In a nutshell, cryotherapy is a procedure that involves standing upright in a cryochamber with temperatures ranging from -184 F to -256 F. The extreme cold stimulates the skin’s temperate receptors to activate the nervous, immune, and endocrine systems. Basically, all the participating systems in your fight or flight response activate like Captain Planet characters. Any pain or inflammation is reduced. Your mood ring turns from a filthy brown to a sunny orange. And all of that happens in less than 3 minutes.
Glacial Cryotherapy opens at 10 a.m. Friday, 17171 Bothell Way NE, Suite 16B.
