Kitchen Fire Causes Major Damage to Shoreline Home
Firefighters said the blaze was caused by food left cooking unattended on a stove.

Firefighters responded Wednesday to a Shoreline house fire caused by food left cooking unattended on a stove.
According to post on the Shoreline Fire Department's Facebook page, the blaze broke out around 4:30 p.m. at a home near 3rd Avenue Northeast and Northeast 170th Street. A single occupant escaped from the home and asked neighbors to call 911.
Units from Shoreline, Northshore and Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to the scene. The fire quickly moved to the home's attic, but firefighters were able to put out the blaze before it spread to surrounding bushes and trees.
The home was severely damaged by the fire and is uninhabitable at this time, firefighters said. Crews remained on the scene into the evening for clean up and hazard mitigation.Â
