LFP Police Blotter: Woman Finds Crow Stuck in Her Chimney

June 25
VEHICLE PROWL: Someone stole a wallet from an unlocked Subaru Outback on 33rd Ave. N.E.
VEHICLE PROWL: Someone broke into two unlocked vehicles, a GMC Yukon and Jeep Cherokee, in the 16000 block of 35th Ave. N.E. and took a laptop, sunglasses and old cell phone.

CROW STUCK IN CHIMNEY: A woman in the 16500 block of 41st Ave. N.E. called police because a live crow was stuck in her chimney and she couldn’t get a hold of animal control. Animal control said they don’t handle crows and gave the woman the number for Fish & Wildlife. An officer was eventually able to open the space and retrieve the juvenile crow that fell down the chimney and released it without injury.

MARIJUANA: Police stopped a man walking in the bus lane in the 16500 block of Bothell Way N.E. who was trying to hitchhike. He smelled strongly of marijuana and admitted to having a small amount in his bag. He arrested on possession of marijuana and use of paraphernalia. He was issued a criminal citation and released.
VEHICLE PROWL: Someone broke into a Dodge Ram pickup in the 4600 block of N.E. 203rd Court and stole several items.
CAR CRASHES INTO MAILBOXES: A driver of a maroon Saturn crossed the northbound lane and east shoulder of 37th Ave. N.E. and hit several mailboxes in the 20200 block and left the scene. The cost to replace two mailboxes and posts is estimated at $150.
June 27
FIRING BY TEXT: The owner of Great Harvest Bread planned to fire an employee by text and wanted assistance from police in case the employee became volatile. The owner was advised to call 911 if the ex-employee arrived and caused any problems.
June 28
CUT OFF: A driver of blue Volvo SUV southbound on Ballinger Way was seen laughing after she cut off and almost sideswiped the driver of a King County van. Both vehicles pulled into the Lake Forest Park City Hall lot. The woman driving the SUV said the van driver wouldn’t let her in. Police advised her that the van driver had no legal obligation to yield to her vehicle and she has to wait to safely move over.
SHOPLIFTING: Two men in their 30s or 40s took 12 or 15 cans of dog food from Mud Bay, 17171 Bothell Way N.E. One them distracted the employees while the the other put the cans into a bag.
June 29
SHOPLIFTING: A man took about $50 worth of groceries from Albertson’s.
June 30
THEFT: Someone took a Toro Weedeater and a 6-foot fiberglass ladder, and left graffiti from an unlocked garage in the 19500 block of 35th Ave. N.E.
SHOPLIFTING: A man and woman walked out of Albertson’s with a cart full of unbagged groceries from the produce section without paying.
