Plan For Aurora Square Development Heads To Shoreline Council
Shoreline is moving toward an agreement that would bring seven multifamily and two commercial buildings to the former Sears site.
SHORELINE, WA — A plan to redevelop the Aurora Square site in Shoreline will head to City Council this week, making way for a developer to build nine new commercial and multifamily buildings on the parcel.
The Council on Monday will discuss a development agreement for Shoreline Place, and will likely approve the document on Sept. 9. According to the agreement, Shoreline Place would feature seven multifamily buildings with 1,358 units, plus two commercial buildings — but there would be about 72,000 square-feet of retail space across the entire development.
Shoreline Place would be built in four phases, beginning with retail along Westminster Way. After that, multifamily buildings would go in along North 160th Street. The portion of the plaza with Central Market will not be part of the development. Shoreline would also get a new space for the farmers market.

The developers would also make improvements to streets in the area, and voluntarily pay the city $100,000, which would be used for maintenance at Boeing Creek and Shoreview Park.
The developer, Merlone Geier Partners, is also working on developments near a future Lynnwood light rail stop, and at the Federal Way Commons mall.
