Police Confiscate Weapons From Shoreline Student's Home
Officers took several guns from the home of a 14-year-old boy who brought ammunition to Shorecrest High School Monday.
SHORELINE, WA — Officers removed several weapons from the home of a 14-year-old Shorecrest High School student after he brought more than 200 rounds of ammunition to school Monday, according to Shoreline Police. Investigators said Monday's incident involved four other teens and prompted two school lockdowns.
Unfounded rumors of a weapon on campus and a planned shooting Friday canceled classes at Shorecrest Wednesday. After sweeping the property, and interviewing dozens of students, detectives determined there were no credible threats. Thursday night, police served an Extreme Risk Protection Order at the boy's home.
According to police, officers took several rifles and handguns from the house, which were legally registered to the boy's parents and kept in safes. Investigators said the guns matched the caliber of ammunition that the student brought to school Monday.
