Shorecrest Roars Back For 9th Straight Rotary Cup Win
Shorecrest bounced back from a 17-7 deficit to score the final 16 points in a 23-16 victory.

Despite holding a 10-point lead midway through the third quarter, the Shorewood Thunderbirds were unable to snap Shorecrest’s Rotary Cup streak, as two Keegan Small fourth-quarter touchdown runs propelled the Scots to a 23-17 comeback victory on Friday night at Shoreline Stadium.
Junior Anxhelos Pere kicked off the scoring for the Thunderbirds with a four yard touchdown run in the first quarter, only to have Shorecrest answer with a four yard TD run of their own from senior Michael Morgan to knot the score at 7-7.
A 22-yard field goal by senior Chris Namba with 3:00 left in the second quarter sent the T-Birds into halftime with a 10-7 lead.

The T-Birds jumped out to their largest lead of the game courtesy of a 40-yard touchdown run by senior Levy Diaz, who finished with 101 yards on the ground, with 7:34 left in third quarter. A 32-yard field goal by senior Sam Schober brought Shorecrest to within 7 at 17-10.
Shorecrest kicked their offense into high gear in the fourth quarter, with senior Keegan Small reaching the end zone twice in the final six minutes to give the Scots a 23-17 lead. Junior Nik Hendricks sealed the Shorecrest win with an interception at midfield on the T-Birds final drive.

Shorecrest has now won the last nine meetings between the two schools. With the victory, Shorecrest improves to 2-4 (1-2 in Wesco), with Shorewood falling to 1-5 (0-2).Â
