Shoreline Man Who Drowned In Lake Ballinger Identified
The drowning happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to South County Fire officials.
SHORELINE, WA — A 52-year-old Shoreline man drowned Tuesday afternoon in Lake Ballinger, according to South County Fire officials. He was identified by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner as Timothy A. Bergstrom.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. when firefighters were called to the lake in Mountlake Terrace for a swimmer in distress. Bergstrom apparently fell into the lake from a raft while trying to retrieve something from the water, fire officials said.
Bergstrom's friends were able to get him out of the water and back onto the raft. Firefighters performed CPR on him as they were taking him to shore, but they couldn't revive him.

Bergstrom's manner of death was ruled an accident.
Lake Ballinger update: Firefighters responded for a swimmer in distress. Friends got the victim aboard a raft and did CPR. Firefighters in a rescue boat continued CPR as they brought the victim to shore. Efforts to revive the 52-yr-old Shoreline man were unsuccessful.
