Shoreline Police Blotter: Person Using Loaded Shotgun as a Cane Shots Self in Foot

The following blotter items range from Aug. 15, 2012 - August 18, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

August 15

THREATS: A son threatened to assault and kill his mother during an argument over a curfew violation in the 18000 block of Stone Ave. N. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A female took vicodin and drank vodka and was involuntarily committed after making statements she wanted to kill herself at Ace in the Hole, 14741 Aurora Ave. N.

CHECKS FORGED: Unknown suspect(s) wrote fake checks using the name of the victim, who lives in the 20200 block of 8th Ave. N.E.

VANDALISM: An officer found the words SLOPE and REVOK tagged on the east side of the east fence at Shoreline Park, 19030 1st Ave. N.E., in black pen.

SHOPLIFTING: Safeway loss prevention stopped a man trying to steal alcohol at the store at 15332 Aurora Ave. N.

ASSAULT: A husband assaulted his wife and rammed her car on his way out in the 18000 block of 15th Ave. N.E.

August 16

VANDALISM: Someone tagged BIGO, EGYPT, RESKA and FBC in blue, white, and gold paint pen and black marker at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, 2021 N.W. 190th St. 

ABUSE SUSPECTED: The staff at Parkridge Center, 1200 block of N.E. 145th St. called police because they suspected a father may be assaulting his disabled son during visits.

SHOPLIFTING: A person was cited for Theft 3 after being caught stealing clothing at Sears, 15711 Aurora Ave. N., and concealng it in his jacket and backpack.

VANDALISM: Police found two new tags at Aurora Village Transit Center, 1524 N. 200th St., RESKA on a shelter window and POLLUTED PROTEIN on a newspaper box. 

August 17

ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING: A person took prescription pain medication and then attempted to use a loaded shotgun like a walking cane and promptly shot himself or herself in the foot with a round of 00 buck. 

MAIL THEFT: A man in the 20300 block of Greenwood Ave. N. said he had four checks and a money order in his outgoing mail stolen. He realized it had been stolen after checking his bank account online.

BURGLARY: A woman was working in her yard on Aug. 12 and left her garage door open while she was out back. The next morning she noticed several items were missing from the open garage. 

FRAUD: A guy sold a laptop computer to a unknown female through craigslist.com. They meet at Starbucks at 18336 Midvale Ave. N. and she paid him in $1,200 in fake $100 bills.

August 18

VANDALISM: An unauthorized trail about 400 feet long was cut into the southern portion of Twin Ponds Park, 15401 1st Ave. N.E.

VANDALISM: Someone keyed a vehicle in the 18000 block of N. Park Lane N. with the word "SLUT" during the night. Possible suspect information was given.

WELFARE CHECK: An elderly Korean speaker walked 60 blocks from home at Crista Ministries, 19301 King's Garden, and got lost.
