Shoreline's Hillwood Park Adds New Outdoor Workout Equipment

New workout equipment for adults will be installed at Hillwood Park in Shoreline. They will be dedicated at a ceremony on Sept. 27.

Three new pieces of workout equipment for adults will be installed in Hillwood Park, and the equipment will be dedicated and demonstrated at a ceremony at the park at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

The new equipment includes a two-seated leg press trainer, a two sided rotator for two people and a self-weighted rower. Hillwood Park is at 19001 3rd Ave NW, Shoreline.

According to the city, the equipment was purchased and installed with 2013 Mini-grant funding obtained by Hillwood Community Network, which received a City of Shoreline Mini-grant to support wellness activities in Hillwood Park and the 4-corners neighborhoods.

The Hillwood Community Network and Calvin Presbyterian Church also will hold a free wellness event, “Preventing Falls, One Step At A Time” from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Calvin Presbyterian Church Activities Center, 18826 Third Avenue, Shoreline, WA. The Falls Prevention workshop will be led by Mud Puddle Fitness owner, Lisa Stuebing and Richmond Beach Rehab Physical Therapists will perform free "falls risk assessments."

Information about this event is available on the City of Shoreline website.

Editor's note: This story has been corrected. The original version of the story stated that the equipment is already installed. It will be installed in time for the dedication ceremony.
