Storm Triggers Power Outage, Downs Trees

Reports of localized power outages and closed roads followed Wednesday night's storm.

SHORELINE, WA - More than 2,800 homes are without power early Thursday morning as heavy wind and rain rolled through the region. Seattle City Light said downed trees are responsible for power outages in the Richmond Beach and Innis Arden neighborhoods in Shoreline. Outages began at 1:15 a.m. and power was restored at 2:40 a.m., according to Seattle City Light.

The National Weather Service reported that loud thunder and lightning strikes along with brief periods of heavy rain occurred in Seattle and surrounding areas. In Bothell, police reported that a tree fell and damaged power lines, closing 4th West in both directions between 224 Street SW and 221 Place SW.

There was no estimate for when the road would reopen.
