‘Treehouse Masters’ Show Comes to Lake Forest Park
Friday night's season finale of the Animal Planet series features a close-knit family with special-needs kids.
Animal Planet’s “Treehouse Masters” cable series turns the cameras on a new Lake Forest Park family in Friday night’s season finale.
Builder Pete Nelson, of nearby Fall City, brought his team of carpenters, riggers and builders together to create a “back-to-basic” kid’s treehouse for Laura and Tony Hernandez, who have special-needs children.
The family moved to Lake Forest Park a year ago and are raising four children under 7.

“As the kids love to camp in the backyard, the occupational therapist who works with two of their children suggested a climbing structure to help develop motor skills and a place to focus their energy,” according to information provided by Animal Planet. “Pete was so touched by the family’s story, he wanted to gift them with a fort-style treehouse the whole family would enjoy and help the children thrive.”
The show airs at 10 p.m. Pacific and Eastern, Friday, July 26, on Animal Planet.
