Brown, McMorris Rodgers About Even In Campaign Fundraising
Both candidates have raised about $5 million, although McMorris Rodgers has a slight edge, according to the latest filings.

SPOKANE, WA - In the 5th Congressional District race, candidates Lisa Brown and Cathy McMorris Rodgers have raised about the same amount of money during this election cycle, according to the latest campaign finance filings. Brown ended the third quarter with $4.6 million, McMorris Rodgers with $5.1 million.
Both candidates have spent millions so far. Brown has spent about $3.8 million to McMorris Rodgers' $4.3 million. Both are spending a lot of money on advertising, on TV in particular. On Sept. 24, McMorris Rodgers spent over $100,000 on a TV ad.
All federal candidates were required to submit campaign finance filings by Monday.

McMorris Rodgers was first elected to the seat in 2004 and has risen to become the House conference chair, the third-highest ranking Republican in the party. This is Brown's first run for federal office, although she did serve as a Democratic state representative and state senator.
