Fight Over Dog's No. 2 Leads To 1 Arrest In Spokane
A 61-year-old is facing an assault charge for strangling his neighbor over un-scooped dog poop.

SPOKANE, WA - If you're the type who doesn't like to scoop your dog's poop, let this be a cautionary tale.
Dwight Collins, 61, was arrested in northeast Spokane on Tuesday for assaulting his neighbors and smearing dog feces on their door. The fight broke out over a long-standing beef over Collins' refusal to clean up after his dog.
Around 4 p.m., a woman heard a noise outside the door of her East Crescent Avenue apartment. She opened the door to find Collins smearing dog poop on the carpet and door, police said. Collins then punched the woman in the ribs. The woman's husband ran to her aid.

Collins began strangling the husband with a long key chain the man had hanging around his neck, police said. The man was eventually able to break free.
Police arrested Collins on second and fourth-degree assault charges. Police did not say whether Collins will be fined for not picking up his dog's leavings.
