Spokane School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Spokane is August 31 for grades 1-12 and September 6 for kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Spokane School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/31: First Day of School for Grades 1-12

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/6: First Day of Kindergarten
• 9/15: Early Release Day
• 9/29: Early Release Day

October

• 10/6: No School for Students (Learning Improvement Day)
• 10/20: Early Release Day

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans’ Day)
• 11/17: Early Release Day
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/1: Early Release Day
• 12/18 - 12/22: Elementary Conferences
• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/12: Early Release Day
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)
• 1/26: No School for Students (Learning Improvement Day)
