Christmas Is Over - Here's How To Recycle Your Tree In Pierce County

Pierce County will collect trees beginning after the holiday.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - Before your tree sheds all of its needles on your living room floor, you can easily get rid of it with the rest of your yard waste.

Pierce County will accept trees placed in your yard waste bin. The trees end up in the compost center, so be sure to remove all ornaments - including tinsel. More importantly: you can't put flocked trees - that is, trees sprayed with fake snow - in the yard waste bin; those trees must go in the regular garbage.

You can also lug your tree down to a tree recycling center if you prefer. Find Pierce County locations here.
