Crews Extinguish 2-Alarm Commercial Fire In University Place

The extent of the damages is unknown, but no injuries have been reported.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA — Firefighters with West Pierce Fire & Rescue spent Monday night containing a blaze in a commercial building in eastern University Place.

At around 9:30 p.m. Monday, West Pierce Fire announced their crews had been called to a two-alarm fire in the strip mall at 2601 70th Ave W.

Despite the severity of the fire - a 2-alarm fire means it requires twice the resources to contain - the blaze was under control by 10 p.m.

The cause of the fire, and the extent of the damages it caused are unknown. No injuries have been reported.
