Dump Truck Driver Notices Haul Is On Fire, Drives To Fire Station
West Pierce Firefighters were surprised Tuesday when a dump truck full of burning trash pulled up at the University Place station.

UNIVERSITY PLACE — Firefighters with West Pierce Fire were surprised Tuesday morning when a smoking dump truck pulled up in front of their University Place fire station. They say it isn't every day a 911 call comes to them!
According to West Pierce Fire, the dump truck driver noticed that the garbage in the back of the vehicle was on fire, realized he was close to the University Place fire station, and hauled the burning trash there for firefighters to put out.
Firefighters posted pictures showing how the dump truck emptied its haul into the parking lot for crews to extinguish.

After it was dumped out firefighters say they were able to put the blaze out quickly without any complications or injuries. It's unknown how the trash caught fire in the first place.
