Fatal Crash Closes NB I-5 Near SR-16 Interchange: WSP
A motorcyclist may have been attempting to change lanes when he hit another vehicle. All lanes heading north are blocked.

TACOMA, WA - All northbound lanes of Interstate-5 are reportedly blocked due to a fatal collision involving a motorcycle just east of the SR-16 interchange. Washington State Patrol Trooper Johnna Batiste announced the crash and closure just before 1 p.m. Friday.
Shortly before 2 p.m., Batiste said the motorcyclist involved in the crash may have been attempting to change lanes when he hit another vehicle, causing him to fall.
While on the ground, the motorcyclist may have also been struck by another vehicle who then reportedly fled the area.

TACOMA Troopers are arriving on scene of a fatality collision involving a motorcycle. Currently all northbound lanes of I5 are blocked in the area of M St. More to come.

UPDATE: Crews are clearing the vehicles stuck immediately at the scene in #Tacoma via a single lane. Once they clear, all lanes of NB I-5 will be diverted using exit 132 City Center and on again to NB I-5. Avoid the area if possible. https://t.co/ARoKzm7Zit
