'Imagine 2045' Asks UP Residents How The City Should Grow
With 25 years as an incorporated area under its belt, the city of University Place is planning for the next 25 years and wants your input.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA — With its first quarter-century nearly complete as an officially incorporated area in Pierce County, the city of University Place is looking ahead and asking its residents how the city should evolve over the next 25 years.
In launching its new campaign, Imagine 2045, the city hopes to garner public input on a variety of topics, ranging from land use and zoning to parks and public safety, according to city officials.
University Place planners will solicit feedback from vested community constituents throughout the next year and a half during popular local events, like the upcoming Duck Daze celebration in June, National Night Out in August, and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration in December.

For residents unable to attend the local events, the city will also accept feedback via FlashVote, an anonymous, online voting mechanism that provides instant results for city's to work from.
City staff will use the community's feedback to inform a draft vision statement, which will in turn be used to help develop the city's Comprehensive Plan — the roadmap for all organized city efforts through 2045, officials said.
