UP Little Caesars Fined Over Youth Labor Law Violations: LNI

Two University Place Little Caesars restaurants violated youth labor laws, according to state officials.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - The company that operates two Little Caesars restaurants in University Place is being fined by the state Department of Labor and Industries for allegedly violating youth labor laws. NW Caesars 1 LLC is appealing the state's proposed $42,000 fine.

According to the state, there were scores of violations between December 2017 and 2018. On over 100 occasions, youth employees missed mandatory rest breaks. The youth employees also worked during school hours, worked past 10 p.m., and used prohibited equipment, according to state officials.

The state focused its investigation at the University Place Little Caesars restaurants at 5502 Orchard St. West and 7305 40th St. West.

NW Caesars 1 LLC was fined in 2015 for similar violations, according to state officials. An appeal hearing will be scheduled later this fall.
