Thanksgiving 2017: Grocery Stores Open Near University Place

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - On Thanksgiving day, there's a lot that can go wrong. Maybe you forgot that your nephew is a vegetarian and need to find a tofurkey FAST; maybe you didn't buy enough pecans to cover the whole pie. Or maybe you just need an extra bottle of wine because Uncle Pete and Aunt Ginny are arguing about politics again.

There are a number of local grocery stores that will remain open on Thanksgiving Day for all your emergency needs - but there are some notable ones that will be closed.

Here are the hours for the bigger ones around Puget Sound:

• Haggen - Regular hours
• Safeway/Albertson's - Regular hours; some locations might close early
• Fred Meyer - 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• H Mart - Regular hours
• Metropolitan Market - Regular open - 2 p.m.
• QFC - Regular hours; some locations might close early
• Grocery Outlet - 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
• Whole Foods - 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• PCC - Closed
• Town and Country Markets - Regular open - 4 p.m.
• Trader Joe's - Closed
• WalMart - Opens regular time; Black Friday sales begin at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving
• WinCo - Regular opening to 3 p.m.
• Costco - Closed
