Did you know that University Place has been a city for 18 years now? The UP Festival in Cirque Park today is celebrating just that. Check out our photos to see what's going on and hear a video clip from Audentia, the winners of the 2013 Battle in the Orchard.

Unfortunately the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade helicopter was not able to make its previously planned landing because of budget cuts, but soldiers from the brigade are on hand to greet festival attendees.

Meanwhile, the city Mascot, a sun called Up, is walking around meeting citizens, along with city officials. And Ashley Jackson, Miss UP USA, is at the Summit Strength and Conditioning Booth for her school supply drive and saying hello.

The festival continues until 11 p.m. Aug. 3.
