Seasonal & Holidays

These University Place Stores Are Open On Christmas Day 2016

If you need to pick up last minute Christmas items, these local stores have holiday hours.

Many stores are open on most holidays, but Christmas is different. Even the biggest stores - Walmart, Costco - are closed, and that includes local favorites like Bartell Drugs and PCC. But some stores are open, just in case you need to pick up a last-minute gift or need a shot of espresso.

Here are a few stores in the area that will be open on Sunday:

  • QFC: Many locations will be open with holiday hours. The company has a full list of them here.
  • Grocery Outlet: Some Puget Sound locations are open beginning a 10 a.m. Call ahead before you go.
  • Cherry Street Coffee: The location at Pine and Melrose in downtown Seattle is open on Christmas.
  • Safeway: Call your local store to check, but many open at 8 a.m. on Christmas.
  • Victrola Coffee: Some locations opening at 10 a.m.
  • Starbucks: Some stores located inside Safeway locations are open, but most are closed. Check hours here.
  • CVS: Some locations are open, for example the 24-hour location in Queen Anne. Check hours here.
  • Walgreens: Most stores open at 8 a.m. on Christmas Day.
  • 7-Eleven: Most stores are open, but some locations are independently owned, so hours may vary.
  • What's Not Open: Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Target, Fred Meyer, Bevmo, Total Wine, Town & Country Markets, Costco, PCC, Uwajimaya, WinCo Foods, Metropolitan Market.
