Dr. Scott Weston Becomes Dean of UC School of Pharmacy

Charleston, WV – July 1, 2021 – Dr. Scott Weston takes office as Dean of the UC School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Weston has served in a variety of leadership roles in pharmacy education as a faculty member, department chair, and associate dean, since 2003. He comes to UC from his role as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at Harding University in Arkansas.

Prior to his role at Harding, Dr. Weston was a tenured professor of Pharmaceutical, Social, and Administrative Sciences at Belmont University where he also served as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Assessment in the College of Pharmacy. His other leadership roles include serving as the Director of Curricular Development and the Director of Curricular Assessment at Harding University.

Dr. Weston has over 20 years’ experience in the private sector as a retail pharmacist and as a senior scientist in the field of computational chemistry with multinational firms such as Johnson & Johnson and Takeda Pharmaceuticals. He currently is a licensed pharmacist in Mississippi.

Dr. Md Omar F. Khan, who has served as interim Dean of the School of Pharmacy, will remain at UC as a Professor of Pharmacy.
