University Place Duck Daze Fest Kicks Off Saturday

University Place's 17th annual Duck Daze event begins Saturday at 10 a.m.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - The city's annual community celebration, Duck Daze, kicks off on Saturday morning. For 2017, Duck Daze is offering an array of family-friendly events from a hot rod show for charity, to a touch-a-truck event from West Pierce Fire and Rescue. Here are all the details of Duck Daze celebration:

10 a.m. - noon
The Duck Daze Parade begins at the corner of 27th Street and Bridgeport Way, and heads down Bridgeport to 37th Street. The parade ends at Market Square. Expect to see local students, businesses, and community groups - and most of them dressed up like ducks.

10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
The UPTown Cruisin’ Association and American Legion Post 138 Car Show happens in front of City Hall. Check out suped-up and classic cars all day. And if you have a car you'd like to display, it costs $20 to enter. Proceeds go to local charitable organizations, as well as the American Legion. There will be prizes awarded to cars at 2:30 p.m.

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Fire Station 31, 3631 Drexler Drive, will be open for kids (and adults) to come in and check out the fire trucks and firefighting equipment. There will also be refreshments, free (temporary) tattoos, a blood donation vehicle, and there will be bike helmets and life jackets for sale.

(And FYI - the current forecast calls for sun and a high of 70 on Saturday in University Place.)
