University Place School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in University Place is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The University Place School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day of School

November

• 11/6 - 11/9: Grades K-7 Half Days (Conferences)
• 11/10: No School (Veteran's Day)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Vacation)

December

• 12/15: Half Day
• 12/18 - 12/29: No School (Winter Vacation)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year’s Day)
• 1/2: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)
• 1/24 - 1/26: Grades 8-12 Half Days (Report Card Planning)

February

• 2/19: No School (President’s Day)
• 2/20 - 2/23: No School (Mid-Winter Break)

April

• 4/9 - 4/13: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/25: Snow Make Up Day (If Needed)
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/20: Last Day of School; Half Day
