University Place Thanksgiving Week Forecast: 4 Things To Know
Rain, snow, wind ... and more snow.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - True to the Northwest, there are rain and clouds in the forecast until at least Sunday. But over this holiday, travelers planning to head over the passes should be careful of some significant snowfall that will occur in the mountains over the next three days.
Here are the four most important things you need to know about weather in University Place over Thanksgiving:
- It's going to rain: Thanksgiving is going to be wet. The lowlands will get rain on Thursday and Friday starting Wednesday night around 7 p.m., according to forecasts. That will continue all day Thanksgiving and won't let up until around 1 a.m. Friday. Black Friday should be drier but cloudy. Saturday will be rainy, but the sun might come out on Sunday.
- It's going to snow: If you're driving across the Cascades you should leave ... well, you should've left on Tuesday, or at least before dark on Wednesday. There's a winter storm warning in effect through Thanksgiving, and snow levels will drop to around 2,000 feet by Saturday. Keep this in mind if you're traveling back to the region this weekend.
A plea to grandmothers: Try to get your kids over Snoqualmie today because heavy snow is forecasted for tomorrow. https://t.co/J9MHftIq6m

- It'll be cool: Updated forecasts place temperatures in the high 40s on Thanksgiving and beyond (although on Black Friday, it'll apparently get up to 51).
- It won't be too windy: South-easterly gusts will blow at about 14 MPH on Thanksgiving, but that's the highest it'll go through the end of the weekend.
