Wind Warning For University Place Begins Stormy Week

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - A classic Western Washington windstorm will help up begin the workweek. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory all day Monday with gusts up to 55 MPH expected. That means power outages and downed trees are possible throughout the day.

On top of that, it's going to rain all week. Showers will be heaviest at the beginning of the week along the I-5 corridor. The mountains will get plenty of snow this week with levels down around 4,000 feet, according to the NWS.

Monday: Rain. High near 53. Breezy, with a south wind 11 to 16 mph increasing to 21 to 26 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 43. South wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Rain. High near 53. South wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Rain. Low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Showers. High near 49. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Wednesday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 40.

Thursday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 47.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 40.

Friday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 47.
