WSP Searching For Hit-And-Run Driver Who Hit Pedestrian On I-5

TACOMA, WA — The Washington State Patrol is asking the public to keep an eye out for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning.

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Ryan Burke, the collision happened around 6:20 a.m., when a car hit a pedestrian on I-5 near the on ramp from 56th Street in Tacoma.

The pedestrian's condition following the collision is unknown. It's also unclear how and why the victim was on foot while on the freeway.

What is known, is that the car that hit the pedestrian took off instead of stopping or calling for help. Troopers say they believe that the car was a silver Nissan Altima. The vehicle may have damage to its right front side, potential missing it's right headlamp and right side view mirror.

Anyone who has seen a silver Nissan with that kind of damage, should call WSP or 911 to report that information.
