Annual Woodinville Shop With A Cop Date Set
After six years, Woodinville's annual Shop With A Cop charity benefit has grown to benefit more than 70 local kids.

WOODINVILLE, WA - Woodinville's annual Shop With a Cop shopping spree will happen on Dec. 15 this year. During the event, local police and other volunteers take kids shopping for Christmas.
The event has grown from about five kids six years ago to over 70 this year, according to Woodinville police. Students from Woodinville High School and Woodinville firefighters will, as usual, be assisting with this year's event.

Our annual Shop with a Cop event will be held on December 15th, 2018. This event allows police officers to shop with a well deserving child for Christmas presents. Each year our local schools identify those families best served by this event.
The officers volunteer their time for this very worthy event. When our school resource officer first started the Shop with a Cop event in Woodinville about six years ago we had 4-5 kids and the officers were able to support it by personally donating.

As the years have passed the number of kids participating has grown. This year we will have between 70-80 kids!
For many of these kids, the gifts from this event are the only gifts they will be opening on Christmas morning! I can truly tell you that these kids absolutely appreciate the Shop with a Cop event.
The officers appreciate the opportunity to interact with these kids and families in a positive and uplifting way. The Woodinville officers and many officers from surrounding law enforcement agencies have asked to participate. Our school resource officer already has a long list of Woodinville High School students asking to help wrap the gifts!
The Woodinville Fire Department has helped support this event via their Benevolent Fund. Frankly, we could not do this without their support. At a recent Chamber of Commerce luncheon many Woodinville businesses also donated in support of the Shop with a Cop event. This has indeed become a community event!
