You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Woodinville Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

If you’ve lived in Woodinville any amount of time, you've heard about Ristorante Italianissimo. Maybe you know it for the statue of a rearing-up white stallion atop its sign. Whatever the reason for knowing the name, locals know it as one of the best Italian eateries in town. Upscale décor, extensive wine list, and traditional Northern Italian food are Italianissimo's hallmarks. The dining room is one of the most elegant in Woodinville, without being ostentatious. Tables are draped in white linen; windows are framed in heavy velvet. The overall effect is sophisticated rather than stuffy.

Of course, fine dining needs to be about more than décor, and here Italianissmo truly delivers. Pasta is made fresh daily. Mondays feature freshly made meatballs (while they last), on Fridays there are fresh made sausages. The extensive wine list has drawn accolades from Wine Spectator magazine. 15608 NE Woodinville-Duvall Rd, Woodinville. 425.485.6888. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Prices: $10 to $33 for entrées.
