This Saturday’s Open Garage, entitled “Professional Exterior Prep, Wash, and Finishing”, is the first of four Open Garage events Clean Planet will be offering this summer. Designed to provide DIY tips and techniques you can do at home, Clean Plant owner Craig MacKay is an official Air Force One detailer and a certified Gtechniq coatings technician. This week he will demonstrate how to effectively hand wash your vehicle without leaving swirls, water spots, and streaks; the difference between brands when it comes to cleansers, waxes, and protection products; and the best cleaning materials to use and not use on your car. He will also share interesting facts about the environment and its effects on your car's exterior, and the proper way to clean glass so it is streak-free.
“Some people wonder why we want to show car owners how to do what we do. The truth is, the more involved the customer is in the upkeep of their vehicles, the easier it is for us to explain why we recommend the processes, the products, and the preventative measures we do,” MacKay says. “There are a lot of great, innovative products on the market, but they are not all good for your vehicle or the environment. If you make a mistake, you will bring it to us to fix it and sometimes that can be an expensive. The more information we share, the more money you save.”
Clean Planet is also introducing their new private label line of retail cleaning products, and are offering a limited supply of custom 5-gallon Clean Fling Washing Kits, including a wash bucket with grit guard and with a selection of professional-grade cleaning products, all for 50% off the retail price to all Open Garage attendees.

”The products you use and put on your vehicle are extremely important,” MacKay says. “By opening our own retail store, we can educate car and truck owners about the differences between OTC products found in the corner auto parts store, and the higher-grade professional products used in successful detailing shops around the country.”
All Open Garage attendees get a free Paint Assessment, and if they bring a friend or family member, they will get $50 off a Drive-Pur Odor Removal & Bacteria Treatment.
