St. Patrick's Day: Places to Celebrate

Despite our efforts at trying to find ways to celebrate St. Paddy's Day in town, we were unsuccessful. So here are some places to celebrate in nearby Kirkland.

Every several years St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday, as it is does in 2012, and there is little doubt that toasts will be flippin’ and pints tippin’ around the area on March 17. But sadly, Patch could find any celebrations in Woodinville. So we turned to our Kirkland neighbor for St. Paddy celebrations.

The day will kick off with the first-ever , starting at 8 a.m. Then the party will move over to the , starting at 10 a.m. this year, an hour early. Around the corner downtown,  is offering special green tee-shirts, green beer and corned beef all day.

Nearby,  is always packed on St. Pat's and this year is offering Guiness lamb stew, soda bread and corned beef. Just south on Lake Steet, Hectors sister ship, , is also expected to be packed with green.

Down Lake Washington Boulevard,  at Carillon Point will feature green beer and Chef Matthew Steffen’s 7-Day Brined Corned Beef Brisket. The up in the Totem lake area has been decked out in shamrocks for more than a week.

Then starting at 8 p.m., the  is puling out all the green stops for a St. Patrick’s Day Party featuring electric six-string violin virtuoso Geoffrey Castle. Guinness and Jamesons will be served in the in the lobby! No doubt other bars and restaurants around town will be struttin’ the green as well.
