Teen Who Drowned In Lake Washington Is Northshore SD Student
Ryan Payne, 14, was pulled from Lake Washington near Magnuson Park on Memorial Day.
KENMORE, WA — The 14-year-old who was pulled from Lake Washington on Memorial Day after a near drowning died on Tuesday, according to Harborview Medical Center. Ryan Payne was a student at Kenmore Middle School in the Northshore School District.
According to Seattle fire officials, Payne was pulled from the lake at around 2:30 p.m. Monday and taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Bystanders pulled Payne from the lake onto a floating dock.
The Kenmore Middle School principal alerted the school community about Payne's death on Thursday afternoon via email, according to the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter. Payne would've graduated from 8th grade this year and was headed to Inglemoor High School in Kenmore.
