Update: Culvert project near Woodinville rescheduled to Sept. 4

The schedule change will reduce costs and keeps the road open during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

The King County Road Services Division will begin work on the project at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, instead of Aug. 29, and will completely close a section of 176th Avenue Northeast just south of Northeast 195th Street.

During construction, traffic can instead travel on 168th Avenue Northeast to access Northeast 195th Street. Near the construction zone flaggers will funnel traffic on Northeast 195th Street into one lane Sept. 4 through Oct. 5. Crews plan to reopen 176th Avenue Northeast to traffic Sept. 21. 

Work includes digging a 72-foot-long trench across 176th Avenue Northeast to make room for a replacement box-style culvert. The trench will be 36 feet wide and 12 feet deep to make room for eight culvert sections, each weighing 13 tons.
