White Nationalist Marcher From Bothell Elected To GOP Position
James Allsup is now a precinct committee officer for the Whitman County Republican Party, The Daily Beast reported.

PULLMAN, WA — A Bothell High School graduate who marched with white nationalists in Charlottesville, Virginia, last year has reportedly secured a position with a local Republican Party in Whitman County. James Allsup, 22, was elected as a precinct committee officer for the Whitman County GOP last week when his candidacy remained uncontested for four days, The Daily Beast reported.
The media outlet verified that Allsup's certification — which he posted a picture of on Facebook — was authentic.
Allsup participated in the "Unite the Right" demonstrations in August 2017. A video of him in Charlottesville showed him praising the Confederate flag as a "symbol of heritage." He also praised white nationalist leader Richard Spencer.

Allsup was filmed marching with the anti-immigrant white nationalist group Identity Evropa, The Beast reported. Twitter later suspended his account.
Allsup is also a former president of the Washington State University College Republicans. He resigned from that position in August shortly after the deadly Charlottesville rally, but was reelected to the position in December. That election was ultimately invalidated.

Allsup reportedly talked about his new position on an Identity Evropa podcast, The Beast reported. He talked about the need to have a "seat at the table."
“I happen to be involved in the Spokane GOP. I am now actually an elected official in the Whitman County GOP down here where I live,” he said. “You have a seat at the table. And that’s the most important thing, getting that seat at the table, and you can get that seat at the table by, yes, showing up, yes, by bringing people in, and again this doesn’t necessarily only have to be IE members.”
Patch has reached out to the Whitman County GOP and will update when we hear back.
