Woodinville Wonderland On Track For Dec. 1 Opening

The local Christmas spectacle is set to open on schedule for the month of December.

WOODINVILLE, WA - Local Christmas-light luminary Mark Zembruski is saying that his annual Woodinville Wonderland spectacle is on track to open on Thursday.

Zembruski told Patch.com on Wednesday that he'll be lighting up his 125,650 lights for the month of December, although he might be working through some bugs over the first few days.

"I would say we're going to be ready for the [Dec. 1] light-up," Zembruski said.

This year, he's added a new aspect to the show. The "road tree" portion will feature giant 12-inch light bulbs that change color.

Woodinville Wonderland is a massive Christmas light show at Zembruski's house that he's been putting on for the community for years. Visitors can stay for nearly hour-long shows featuring spectacular light displays, music, and all kinds of holiday characters. Zembruski even has an FM radio station - 101.9 - that he uses to broadcast the show in the area around his house.

There's also a charitable aspect to Woodinville Wonderland. Zembruski collects cash donations that he splits between Special Olympics Washington and the Northshore Wranglers. In 2015, he raised close to $7,500.

So starting tomorrow, you can grab a hot chocolate and head over to Zembruski's home at 23620 Northeast 183rd Street to experience the wonderland. Check out his website or Facebook page for show times.
