Titletown? Not Quite, But Green Bay Ranked No. 4 Football City
WalletHub's study of best cities for football fans has Green Bay in the top five overall, and best midsize. Madison is No. 212 overall.
Across Wisconsin —The Packers were one of the final four teams playing in the NFL this season, and now Green Bay has been ranked as the nation's fourth-best football city in a study released Monday.
WalletHub.com, a personal finance website, used 21 metrics to compare 240 U.S. cities with at least one college or professional football team for its study "2021's Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans." Green Bay earned a total score of 53.94, finishing behind No. 1 Pittsburgh (62.61), No. 2 Dallas (55.55) and No. 3 Boston (54.19).
Green Bay was ranked No. 1, ahead of Buffalo, N.Y. (42.63), on the list of best midsize cities for football fans. Madison, home of the University of Wisconsin, scored a 12.75 and was ranked No. 49 on the list of midsize cities, No. 212 overall.

Among the metrics considered in the study were: on-field performance of the local team, history of success, ticket prices, stadium capacity, attendance and fan engagement on social media.
