10 Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Appleton

The Appleton Health Department received notice Saturday of two additional residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 10.

Both residents live in the Outagamie County portion of the city. The cases were acquired through community spread and both residents are in isolation.

Our health department is conducting contact investigations to identify and follow-up with any people who had close contact with the ill individual. Close contacts will be educated about self-monitoring their health status by our health department nurses. They will be required to do daily symptom and temperature checks; as well as quarantine themselves for 14 day as a precaution.

While the number of positive cases continue to rise, we can assume there are still more cases in Appleton which have not been confirmed. We ask everyone to continue to follow the Safer at Home emergency order. Following guidelines from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and CDC will help slow the spread of the virus.
