15th Coronavirus Case Confirmed In Appleton
Appleton Health Department received notice Thursday afternoon of additional resident who tested positive for COVID-19, total number is 15.

The Appleton Health Department received notice Thursday afternoon of an additional resident who tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 15. There are currently eight residents in isolation, six who had COVID-19 who have been released from isolation and one who has passed away from the virus.

The resident lives in the Calumet County portion of the city and is in isolation. The case was acquired through community spread.
Our health department is conducting contact investigations to identify and follow-up with any people who had close contact with the ill individual. Close contacts will be educated about self-monitoring their health status by our health department nurses. They will be required to do daily symptom and temperature checks; as well as quarantine themselves for 14 day as a precaution.

While the number of positive cases continue to rise, we can assume there are still more cases in Appleton which have not been confirmed. We ask everyone to continue to follow the Safer at Home emergency order. Following guidelines from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and CDC will help slow the spread of the virus.
