How To Celebrate The Holidays
Appleton Health Department is supportive of celebrating the holidays with community education around safe practices.

- Stay home; do not travel.
- Do not gather indoors with friends and family who are not a part of your household; limit outdoor gatherings to 10 people or fewer while practicing physical distancing and wearing face coverings.
- If a family member within your household is sick or awaiting test results:
- If possible, quarantine them to a separate bedroom and bathroom.
- Clean and sanitize bedroom and bathroom regularly.
- Serve this person meals separately and use disposable utensils and dinnerware that can be thrown away after use.
- Shop online for gifts or call local businesses for curbside pickup.
- Mail your gifts to friends and family, or plan contactless drop-off.
- Video conference with friends/family when preparing and sharing a meal.
- Video conference with friends/family to open gifts.
- Prepare meals and treats for delivery with contactless drop-off.
- Host a digital watch party to view sports, parades, holiday movies and the new year’s ball drop from home.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, before and after preparing/eating food and after coughing/sneezing.
