'Hurts So Good': 5 WOW Houses We Love to Hate

Have you ever felt that you'd be the perfect owner for a ridiculous luxury home? These are those houses. Here's why we hate 'em:

METRO MILWAUKEE, WI — Have you ever felt that you'd be the perfect owner for a ridiculous luxury home? These are those houses. You walk by them down the street, or go to one of their open houses only to learn that, yes, it does have a functional indoor pool, or yes, its 1920's-era woodwork was perfectly maintained. Check them out on realtor.com, Patch's real estate partner.

Muskego Wow House: 10-Car Garage

Step inside a beautiful Muskego home that has unparalleled attention to detail! This home has more than 4-acres of property. Why We Hate This House: A 10-car garage. Are you kidding? One for my car, one for the wife's car, two for the kids' cars. That only leaves six more for the boat, my photo studio and an indoor greenhouse.

Mount Pleasant Wow House: 4 Decks

This one-of-a-kind custom-built home has an additional 2 bedroom wing perfect for elderly parents, college children, guests or live in help. Why We Hate This House: With a 2-bedroom wing, the kids can have their own section of the house, which means we could keep the 'grown-up' parts of the house all to ourselves. No toys everywhere!

Milwaukee Wow House: Rare Lakefront Opportunity

Tucked back from the Lake Drive, this property boasts captivating lake views from nearly every room and quality workmanship throughout. Why We Hate This House: We could wake up every day to meditate as the sun rises over the lake. At night we could have our own writing studio in the perfect tranquil environment. Watching the storms roll in would be quite a treat.

Brookfield Wow House: A Neoclassical Design

Step inside a stunning neoclassical east-facing mansion nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in Berkshire hills. Why We Hate This House: Neoclassical architecture came into its own in the mid 18th-century as an appeal to the elegance of form over the earlier trend toward ornamentation (Milwaukee's Grain Exchange Building Anyone?). We know we'd appreciate the design, right down to those quoins (the squares to the left and right of the archways).

Shorewood Wow House: A Gracious Tudor

Everything about this 1920's-era Shorewood Tudor will garner "oohs" and "aahs" from your guests. Find out why. Why We Hate This House: This house was built right in the era of the art deco period of the 1920s and 30s. Though the house isn't particularly of that design, all our cool art, glassware and furniture designed to reflect that era would be a perfect fit in this house.
