The 100 Best Places to Raise a Family in Wisconsin. Did Racine Make the List?

RACINE COUNTY -- Just in time for Summer 2016, Niche.com took a look at the best places to raise a family in states across the country.

According to its rankings, Wisconsin offers more than a few possibilities.

In the national rankings, Devon, Pennsylvania earned top honors. In Wisconsin, it's all about Cedarburg. The Metro Milwaukee area took five of the top 10 spots with Elm Grove (2), Whitefish Bay (3), Brookfield (4), Mequon (9) and Fox Point (10) placing high in the rankings. Racine missed the list by a ways, placing 178th in the state.

The lists were created using information about public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities. Data was pulled from the U.S. Census, FBI, BLS, CDC and other sources, according to Niche.

Overall Experience at Racine:

This small town is perfect for its steady German/Danish population. Many subdivisions are popping up around the outskirts that young families are moving into. It is not the most innovative or creative city, but it is quite homey.

Crime & Safety at Racine:

Crime is very common in the area. My bike was stole without a trace when I was 12, and that was really the first experience I've had with crime. Now that I am working and understand the world better, I can see all other forms of crime. Shoplifting happens where I work, and the drugs and needless small crimes is ridiculous.
