CALEDONIA -- Just in time for Summer 2016, Niche.com took a look at the best places to raise a family in states across the country.

According to its rankings, Wisconsin offers more than a few possibilities.

In the national rankings, Devon, Pennsylvania earned top honors. In Wisconsin, it's all about Cedarburg. The Metro Milwaukee area took five of the top 10 spots with Elm Grove (2), Whitefish Bay (3), Brookfield (4), Mequon (9) and Fox Point (10) placing high in the rankings. Caledonia missed the list by a ways, placing 176th in the state.

The lists were created using information about public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities. Data was pulled from the U.S. Census, FBI, BLS, CDC and other sources, according to Niche.

Caledonia is a suburb in Wisconsin with 24,689 residents. It has average home values, average rent costs, and average unemployment levels. Its citizens generally have high education levels and high income levels.

Crime & Safety at Caledonia: I personally live farther from the inner city of Racine and I feel safe. When I attend my inner city high school I feel slightly unsafe. We've had numerous lock down procedures along with shootings and stabbings among other neighboring high schools. Illegal drugs are common even within school bathrooms.

Overall Experience at Caledonia: I thoroughly enjoy living in the area where my house is currently located. The view is gorgeous and the surrounding houses that have been built in my neighborhood are very appealing. There are many affluent families that live in my neighborhood, so they are able to afford nice homes.

My neighborhood is very close to the interstate, which makes it easier to travel to neighboring towns. If I could change one thing about living here, it would be that it was really far from my school. I attended a private school, and most of my friends lived near where the school was located.
