RACINE, WI — Of all the places to buy a house, one international study reports that Racine, Wis. (Yes, Racine, Wis.) is the number one place to buy an affordable home.

According to a report first published in the Racine County Eye, The 13th Annual Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey: 2017 showed that Racine is number one based on the "median multiple principle."

The median multiple, takes the average sales prices in a market and then divides that number by the gross annual median household income to come up with the area’s affordability.

Racine is way out in front. Its ratio is 1.8 compared to the United States having “a moderately unaffordable” Median Multiple of 3.6, according to the report.
